For me, it’s all about sharing experiences with our children, my husband and having my own adventures, with my family, friends and by myself.
Last summer, I decided that the children were all getting old enough (11, turning 10 and 8) and would be good to take to the Seattle Children’s Theater. We have seen some wonderful presentations…

Last weekend, we saw A Single Shard and all of us went into the story unknowing. We all had ideas of the stories for Robin Hood, Harold and even Frog & Toad, but we had little expectations of A Single Shard. It seemed a little slow at first, but once the characters brought you into their world, it was a delightful ride. Even though it was recommended for an older audience, our almost 8 year old fully understood the premise and even asked a question during the q&a session, that the SCT actors conduct after every show. Holly asked how the homeless CraneMan and Tree Ear make the fire on the stage, and the answer was by using a red light below the stage.
If you want to know more about the storyline, read about it at SCT; but if you want to experience something great, go to the Seattle Children’s Theater, and take your children. Now playing through March 18, 2012.
