Stuff to do Indoors:
Vertical World, Redmond – we discovered VW last Spring Break. Heather cannot get enough of climbing, but Holly did fantastic too! Harrison who isn’t crazy about getting up high, even was scaling some serious walls for fun. It’s not a cheap date, but the 2-hour session they did was fantastic. They offer camps this summer.
If you want to try a quick climb and not break the bank –check out the REI Pinnacle, Redmond Town Center – The REI Pinnacle is open Wednesdays 4:00-9:00pm & weekends 1:00-4:00pm, $5 for members only. Call the store to check the days and times. The last time we did this, it was one climb up and you were done. Bring your camera.
Kidz Bounce in Preston and 3-2-1 Bounce near Kirkland in Bellevue, are all fun indoor bouncy houses and slides. Excellent for birthday parties…I believe we had one or two there (and we usually do our birthday parties at home). If you like this and are a ProClub member, check out Family Fun Saturdays and Sunday nights, which add these bouncy house in a dry area and in the swimming pool (wet area). See Free and Fun for Summer 2011 for more family activities.
Got older kids? Sky High Sports will have them bouncing off the walls. This trampoline place gave me the willies, at first, but it is run very well, the one in Bellevue. We seem to go when it’s not so crowded. I believe they manage the crowds by allowing a certain number of people to play during each hour. There is dodge ball (that I could do without, but the kids seem to love it). There’s a pit to jump in and trampolines that allow you to bounce off the walls. It’s a great way to waste an hour this summer (or more), and really shake those sillies out!
