Greg and I are so proud and pleased to announce that as of last Monday night, Harrison has successfully completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review, and as of November 18, 2019 he has attained the highest rank of the Boy Scouts of America – the Eagle Scout.
Becoming an Eagle Scout takes perseverance and lots of hard work. Boy Scouts have to earn all of the ranks in order starting with Tenderfoot (5th grade) and complete them all before his 18th birthday.
🦅Every Eagle Scout must earn 21 Merit Badges, 13 are required; Harrison has earned 28.
🦅They have to serve a minimum of 6 months in a leadership position for his troop; Harrison served for 4 years with Troop 575 with back-to-back leadership roles as Historian, Quartermaster, Scribe and Patrol Leader.
🦅And the capstone of proposing, planning, and carrying out an Eagle service project. Harrison repainted the USA and World Maps at Rachel Carson Elementary back in May, with the help of his amazing troop and its leadership; this group of people, who we are forever grateful for, in assisting and rising Harrison to this rank.
🦅Finally, every Eagle Scout has to attend a Scoutmaster conference and pass a board of review.
Congratulations, our son, this is quite an achievement!
