On the eve of the release of HP DH2, I want to go “on record” and as God and Greg as my witness; I have been saying for years, yes years, now, that once this movie, the final movie in the series (at the time I didn’t know it was going to be a Part 2), but once the final movie is released it will be not only a blockbuster, but an Oscar nominated movie and Best Picture winner for an Oscar.
In the past, different categories of the HP movies have been nominated, but this year, I believe it will be an Oscar nominated picture and will receive the award. Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Alan Rickman (who plays Snape) will be nominated as well; and two, maybe all three will receive an Oscar. In addition, the director, visual effects, cinematography, costume, score, etc and other movie categories will be nominated. It might be a run away movie, like the Lord of the Rings final trilogy movie, Return of the King which received 11 Oscars in 2003.
The Harry Potter movies have been nominated in the past, but have yet to win. The 2012 Oscars will be different.
Yet to see the film, as it opens tonight –
I’m planning to brush up on Horcruxes; I have already watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and tonight I believe the movie to watch will be The Order of the Phoenix. In this movie, you see the beginning of the uprising, Dumbledore’s Army, The Room of Requirement, Occulmency and additional character development (The Order and Voldermort’s Death Eaters). You even get a glimpse of Dumbledore’s brother (check out the scene at Hog’s Head); these characters will play big parts in the final movie – I cannot wait to see it!
But I believe there will be a scene with Snape and Dumbledore on the Astronomy Tower, discussing the fate of Harry Potter and how Snape is about to snap, being Dumbledore’s double agent. Dumbledore asking Snape to protect Draco, guide Harry Potter and when the time comes, put him (Dumbeldore) out of his misery. I believe this will be fascinating and amazing scene between these actors, but especially Alan Rickman. Ever since The Order of the Phoenix where we got a great taste of Snape’s attitude, and I have been wanting to see more of that on screen, I believe this is the movie where we’re going to see it.
And that’s my predication.
It truly is rare to find educated individuals about this matter, but you sound like you no doubt know exactly what you are writing about! Thx
